My name is Varkha, and I am a passionate advocate for optimal oral health and well-being and am committed to helping you achieve that. With a deep-rooted passion for periodontics, I have made it my goal to ensure I provide the highest calibre of periodontal care in a warm and friendly environment.
When I am not working on something perio-related or travelling between London and the Midlands, you will often find my engrossed in a good book, savouring the tranquillity of an afternoon tea, or indulging in a rejuvenating spa break. The relaxation and serenity in my own hobbies has allowed me to curate my workflow so that you can feel at ease while receiving the dental care you deserve.
My clinical profile
Since graduation from Queen Mary University of London in 2018, I pursued additional training opportunities in general practice and oral and maxillofacial surgery. My unwavering commitment to delivering excellence in dentistry is evidenced by the numerous accolades I received during my tenures in these roles.
In 2021, I secured a coveted position in the highly competitive four-year periodontology pathway at Guy’s Hospital, London. Here, I managed intricate cases through both non-surgical and surgical interventions, all while benefiting from the mentorship of leading periodontal experts globally.
My profound interest in exploring the nexus between periodontitis and systemic health culminated in the launch of the ‘Periodontitis and Diabetes’ campaign in 2020. This pioneering endeavour has earned national recognition, including British Society of Periodontology Audit Award, and has garnered support from a globally renowned oral health corporation. More recently, I won the esteemed British Society of Periodontology Systematic Review Prize in 2022 – a testament to the research and collaborations with leading figures in the field.
In the academic sphere, I am an active contributor to periodontal research. I have authored articles featured in esteemed national and international peer-reviewed journals, including the highly respected Journal of Clinical Periodontology. I am fortunate to be frequently invited as a national and international lecturer on all aspects of periodontitis, offering my expertise through engaging courses and presentations. My dedication to professional advancement is reflected in my regular participation in both national and international conferences.
My devotion to the field of periodontics has propelled me to expand my periodontal services. I take immense pride in offering a more comprehensive assessment and management approach, ensuring that my patients receive the highest standard of holistic care available.
