What our Warwickshire patients say

The grove practice
What's the difference between fillers and anti-wrinkle treatments?
Dermal fillers add volume to areas that have hollowed or lost definition with age, and treat static wrinkles (those present at rest). Anti-wrinkle treatments relax muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles (those that appear with facial movement). Fillers are ideal for cheeks, nasolabial folds, lips, and lower face areas, while anti-wrinkle treatments work best on the upper face. Many patients benefit from combining both for comprehensive facial rejuvenation.
Will my face look unnatural or overfilled?
Our philosophy centres on natural-looking enhancement. Dr Grewal takes a conservative, gradual approach that respects your natural facial proportions and features. We focus on subtle restoration and enhancement rather than dramatic changes. The goal is for people to notice you look refreshed and rejuvenated, without being able to identify exactly what has changed.
Can anyone have dermal fillers?
Most healthy adults are suitable candidates for dermal fillers. However, they're not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Certain autoimmune conditions, active skin infections near the treatment area, or a history of severe allergies may affect suitability. During your consultation, Dr Grewal will take a thorough medical history to ensure the treatment is appropriate and safe for you.
How much downtime is there?
Downtime is minimal, but some temporary side effects are normal. You may experience swelling, slight bruising, or tenderness at the injection sites for 24-72 hours. These effects are typically mild and can often be concealed with makeup if desired. Most patients return to normal activities immediately, though we recommend avoiding intense exercise, alcohol, and excessive heat for 24 hours.
What if I don't like the results?
One of the benefits of hyaluronic acid fillers is their reversibility. In the unlikely event that you're not completely satisfied with your results, the filler can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. This provides peace of mind, especially for first-time patients. However, with Dr Grewal's experience and our careful, conservative approach, most patients are delighted with their natural-looking results.
Is the treatment painful?
Comfort is a priority during your treatment. Our Fillmed products contain local anaesthetic to minimise discomfort during injection. For sensitive areas, we may apply additional topical numbing cream. Most patients describe the sensation as a mild pressure or slight pinch that is very tolerable. Dr Grewal's gentle technique further ensures your comfort throughout the procedure.
How long do dermal fillers last?
Dermal fillers typically last between 6-18 months, depending on the area treated, the specific product used, and your individual metabolism. Areas with more movement, such as the lips, might metabolise the filler more quickly (6-9 months), while areas like the cheeks can maintain volume for 12-18 months. Your body naturally and gradually breaks down the hyaluronic acid over time.
