It is a great pleasure to take this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about myself. Many patients have met me already and I feel grateful to have so many wonderful patients to look after.

I am one of the principal dentists and directors of The Grove Practice alongside my twin brother, Upen. We have a great team at the practice already and the ability to work closely with other dentists with different areas of expertise means that we can provide excellent care to our patients.

After spending many years travelling the country to learn from the best dentists, consultants and specialists across the world, I decided to come back to Warwickshire where I was born and bred! In 2016 I married my beautiful wife and we are now living happily in Rugby. I enjoy many sports but particularly playing football (and watching Leicester City!). I also enjoy running, cycling, climbing and astronomy! I love photography and have even taken pictures at several family weddings! My greatest satisfaction comes from spending time with my family and friends.

My clinical profile

After graduating from the University of Birmingham in 2007, I gained a wide breadth of experience from working in general practice, post-graduate training in hospital dentistry and carrying out research to stay at the forefront of dentistry. I have a special interest in treating nervous patients with advanced gum disease, cosmetic root coverage for gum recession and regenerative periodontics. This means that I can help people who suffer from bleeding gums, gum disease, receding gums, sensitivity, missing teeth and patients who would like to improve their oral health and make sure it lasts! My motto is – ‘healthy gums, healthy body!’

Following training posts in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Restorative Dentistry, I completed a Certificate in Cosmetic and Advanced restorative dentistry in London. Having worked with some of the best specialists in the world as mentors, this inspired me to follow my interests in Periodontology (the prevention and management of gum problems around teeth and implants). I am a registered Specialist in Periodontology having completed my further training at the prestigious Guy’s Hospital in London, with distinction. I am a member of the British Society of Periodontology, British Dental Association and the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. Alongside working in private practice for most of my career, I have worked for the NHS and University as a specialty dentist and honorary research fellow at Birmingham Dental Hospital managing patients with gum problems, teaching undergraduate dental students and treating patients on a referral basis. My involvement in research has been published internationally and I have helped pilot and carry out studies looking at the links between gum disease and other conditions such as lung disease, kidney disease, heart disease and arthritis.

I am also immensely passionate about education. I am a joint secretary for the British Dental Association in Coventry & Warwickshire section, an organisation that supports other dentists and provides education locally.  I am also a founder of the first Pankey Institute Study club for dentists interested in advanced restorative dentistry and providing a patient-centred approach to their practice. The practice is also a regional centre for Dentinal Tubules, a platform which provides education for the whole dental team across the UK. I also teach undergraduate dental students eager to learn the skills required to be a great dentist!

With my experience in periodontics and restorative dentistry I am able to use my knowledge and skills to provide a comprehensive and holistic approach to treating my patients. A healthy mouth is such a huge part of our overall general health and our purpose is to help you feel better about your oral health and therefore your general health, well-being and confidence. I take pride in providing an open, honest and professional approach for all my patients and the feedback that I regularly receive is that patients like my calm, gentle manner and my attention to detail.

I look forward to meeting you and looking after you in the best way I can.
