What is tooth whitening?
It’s a process that lightens discolourations of your teeth which will have been caused by aging, consumption of coffee, tea, red wine or tobacco.
Can I have my teeth whitened?
The vast majority of people will benefit from tooth whitening, however, your dentist will advise you during your free consultation whether there are any specific reasons why it may not work for you.
How does it work?
Tooth whitening can be achieved by either the ‘in-surgery’ technique, or carried out simply at home using personalised trays.
Are there any side effects?
Some people experience temporary increased tooth sensitivity to cold during the treatment. These symptoms disappear within one to three days after interruption or completion of the treatment.
How long do the results last?
The teeth will always be lighter than they once were; however, it can last forever if regularly maintained by ‘topping up’ once or twice a year.
